My name is Ary J. Glantz. Aviation is my passion. I
graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aerospace
Engineering. Since then, I have worked for Cessna, Bombardier and NASA – mainly
involved with aerodynamics, wind tunnel testing and aircraft design. I am also
a pilot with instrument and commercial ratings. My dream is to one
day incorporate my love of art into my very own design of the ultimate flying machine.

I had been searching for a set of comprehensive Long-ex plans and yours is the most comprehensive i have seen. RAF is not selling them any more. Thank you so much for sharing your resources experience building this fantastic aircraft. I am an architecture student in Singapore and one day, I too might build one. Slowly gathering the knowledge and resources to do so.
Thank you all for your kind words! It's thanks to your comments that let me know the time spent putting this together is worthwhile. If you have any questions or any way I can help further, please feel free to shoot me an email for an open discussion - thelongezbuild@gmail.com
Ary As a former Long-ez owner I was very impressed with your site. I restored my plane after it had sat for 10 years (the builder got into boat racing)so it needed a lot of attention but I loved every minute of it. I look forward to seeing your progress, the videos are great. Keep up the good work.
Great information. I am looking at the fuselage design for an autogyro idea I have. How much would you say the fuselage weighs in the Chapter 9 Part 2 video ?
A fantastic site Ary, full of really useful information which is really inspiring me to get involved in a Long ez project! Yours is going to look amazing with the amount of care and detail you have been putting in.

Ary, fantastic site. The work you put in is very helpful. Thank you.
I've been planning on building my own EZ and wonder what your opinion is on a couple of things.
1. Downdraft versus updraft cooling. I've seen a lot of discussion about this. I think the original EZ design is updraft. Which way are you planning.
2. Engine size. I think you are planning to use a Lycoming IO-320, which is common for an EZ. But the original design is for a 200 or 235. I think that is approx. 105 HP and 120 HP compared to approx 150 HP. I haven't seen this discussed, but does this affect the angle of incidence of the wing and canard?
Love your site! I want to buy a finished LongEZ and I need as much information as possible, and your site is teaching me a lot of things about that aircraft! In fact I'm thinking about building my own!
Thanks for the time you spend sharing your knowledge!!!
Hello Ary. We're glad you're doing your dream and making way for the realization of the dreams of many aviation lovers. My name is Paulo Randow, I am philosopher, astrologer, canoeist, mechanical technician and passionate about aviation from 6 years old, when I saw on TV the man to the moon. My son, Caio Cesar Randow, is commercial pilot. We dreamed together build an experimental aircraft. We are Brazilians, live in the city of Vila Velha-ES Now you are our guide and supporter. I am studying the projects, perusing your comments and seeing your videos. Soon want to be sending you our photos advancing our intent, following its guidelines and exchanging ideas about solutions in assemblies. A big hug and soon we will see in the flights.
I can’t thank you guys enough for your kind words and encouragement. We are all bonded by the love of aviation and I’m glad this blog is helping people pursue their dreams of one day flying a machine that was built by their own hands. I just found your site...amazing!! I spent the last two nights stay up late (way too late) reading and watching all that you have done. Keep up the good work.
Hello Ary, Fantastic work! Your work really inspires me as an aviation lover here in China. I've been dreaming building my own EZ one day. And all the things you're posting here are really helpful to me. Thank you! -Benson
Hello Ary, Thanks for your fantastic work! It is really helpful to me, as I have been dreaming building one of my own. Please keep it up. -Benson in China.
This is fantastic, thank you for sharing your progress with the world. I'm still in the "dreamer" phase and your work makes me dream on; and seeing what it takes to actually "do it" it is very inspiring.
Nice job you put up their, I bought Burt Rutan's Long-EZ plan (endorsed by Rutan & his brother), the seller made me fell like I purchased the last piece,...lol. well, you are wonderful in the way you disseminate knowledge and not holding back information. I plan on getting scheduled time,... part of my vacation time slated for this project. .. I thank you a lot for the lead. Thank you.
Greetings from Carlsbad, Ca. Thanks for taking the time to document and share your build. Few people will ever commit to such an epic project so kudos to your vision and focus.
I just purchased a Long EZ airframe ,it sits in Phoenix Az I live in Nashville Tn. so almost a 3800 mile drive with a trailer ,I'm leaving April the tenth to begin my dream still needs a lot of work to complete, a task I'm excited and ready to take on .I wanted to thank you for your videos and blogs .you have encouraged me that I can do this.your a blessing to our flying community....again. THANK YOU! Thanks for taking the time to share all your hard word and research we really do appreciate your effort. I'll keep you posted on the fire you started. Lol
Crap. Now I've seen it done so I think I'm gonna have to build one. is there any call for the use of carbon tow around holes that will see stress? Could you use carbon fiber for rudder, speed break, strngers.... And is there any instructions or blogs with anyone who used vacuum bags? Great work! Trying to talk my son into going to ER instead of ASU. Very cool!
Awesome job! I love watching your progress. I wish more people were building these right now because I have so many questions! I’ve pretty much made up my mind to build one once I wrap up current projects. My Comanche is a great plane but loves 100LL. I need an ultra efficient two seater for my second plane.
Aircraft and art are a great combination! I hope you find success and are satisfied.
